Analysis Of Advertisements

Picture From Advertisement of 'The Blackout's new album release 'The Best In Town'

This advertisement is not quite as eyecatching as my last, however it is to be found inside magazine's such as 'Kerrang' and 'NME', as a result of this is does not need to be as outrageous or eyecatching as the front cover of 'Kerrang', as it has already been bought, because it's inside a magazine the person who bought the magazine will probably look because they have spent money on it and want to see all the content. For example one would not buy a book and then not read all the pages. This album incorporates both the two leads singers 'Gavin and Sean' and the new album artwork (as a background), this then advertises both the album (and suggests you should buy it) and the bands live act (suggesting you should go see them live). The two lead singers both look like they are shouting or screaming, this reinforces the genre of the band which is 'Heavy Alternarock'. At the bottom is simply the caption 'The Best In Town, In Stores Everywhere Now!'. There is a clever use of font, as the album name is bigger than the rest of the writing (again advertising it overtly) and buy it now has an exclamation mark next to it, suggesting urgency, which perhaps makes the reader believe they have to buy this album urgently (as maybe they are running out or its that good they will all be sold soon). Also the advertisement says 'Catch Them', instead of 'See Them', live. This is suggestible because if you have to catch something it is usually rarer/better, than something you can just see/find, making it seem much more exciting. Of course there is the overt advertising of the bands name with there title 'The Blackout' in huge lettering right in the middle of the advertisement, too.
