Digital Technology - What equipment/software did you use the produce your production?
Skills Acquired.
when shooting the film we used things such as digital cam corders to record the video. We would record separate clips so when it came to the post production and the editing of the film it would make it much easier to edit. This is instead of leaving the camera on record constantly which would leave us with one massive clip.
How did these skills contribute to the creation of your product?
The skills contributed to the creation of the final video as it all came together in the end to create the final product. For example, if I didn't know how to use the camera then a lot of shots would have a finger of the lens making the video pretty pointless and well, rubbish.
How will you develop these skills during the A2 project?
The skills I have acquired in AS will be transffered over into A2 in the production of my music video. I will then expand on these skills and strengthen them by using new means of editing and production when making my music video. I will also acquire new skills throughout the year and also use these in the production of my music video.
Post Production - What software did you use to create your production?
Skills Acquired.
In the AS year when we were producing videos we used the Final cut software to edit and change our videos and get them to the final stages of which it can be uploaded. We also used software such as Photoshop to edit any images thatw would go into any of my videos. I attained alot of skills through using these software packages and now can edit a video easliy and with haste, knowing what i am doing. When using Final Cut i learnt skills such as Burning, Cropping, Trimming, Editing of background, Adding clips to another to make one clip, using the razor tool etc.
How did these skills contribute to the creation of your product?
I will develop these skills by expanding on them and using the software alot more so i become familiar with it and become more confident in using it while not making as many mistakes or errors.
How will you develop these skills during the A2 project?

Research and Planning - What Tasks did you complete when preparing to film your sequence? How did your planning help the smooth progression of your film?

Throughout the AS year, me and my group would try to get all the tasks done before the making of the film so that none of the paperwork would ditract us and take us away from the making of our film. By doing this it meant we could focuus entirely on our film and get that to look really good. Of course we took alot of time and consideration to make sure that all the paperwork was good and right as well before submitting it. We made sure it was right by having our teacher look at the paperwork every so often to make sure it was right and on the right track.
How did these skills contribute to the creation of your product?
As said before we would try to get all the tasks done before the making of the film so that none of the paperwork would ditract us and take us away from the making of our film. I suppose this isnt really a skill but it meant thatw e had everything organised and we knew what we were doing and when we were doing it.
How will you develop these skills during the A2 project?
Simply we will do the exact same. If we can get work done to a standard of which it is good material and is right on the day of which it is given to use then we are getting work done and allowing us to move on to the next lot of work given to us, Again i suppose allowing us to focus on our video.
Using Conventions of real media texts - Which texts did you analyse? Did you take any inpiration from the conventions found from the research?

Alot of the time me and my group would look at various videos of the same genre (of which we would be making our video to) so that we could get an idea of how they filmed and made the video. It also gave us some ideas on stories for our video and allowed us in a way to broaden our horizons.
How did these skills contribute to the creation of your product?
It allowed us as said before to ' get an idea of how they filmed and made the video. It also gave us some ideas on stories for our video.' By doing this we would have alot of ideas and could easily have an idea on what to base our video on.
How will you develop these skills during the A2 project?
I think in the A2 year we will do the same and watch alot of videos that have alot of relevance and are of the same genre of the video we wish to vreate, So in this case we would watch videos and bands of a similar genre to see how they film their music videos and what stories (if they do) base it on.
Creativity - Were our ideas for your portfolio imaginative and unique or did youo adhere to conentions?
Skills Acquired.
Looking back at the videos we produced at an AS level I would say that we were very imaginative. Yes, we would use some of the reaserch for some features for our video but alot of the time our material was constantly thought up and imaginative. By doing it this way we would be using our own material that no one else has used and will therefore be new and interesting. This of course would have its disadvantages as our materials may not be good enough.
How did these skills contribute to the creation of your product?
As said before by being 'Creative' we would 'be using our own material that no one else has used and will therefore be new and interesting.' Obviously we would have to keep the genre of our videos in sync with the task in hand that we were given. But all of the scripts, props, ideas and such were all our ideas that we thought up.
How will you develop these skills during the A2 project?
We will continue to be imaginative and use our own material. Especially now that we are creating music videos as that is what alot of artists like to do in their videos. Be new and creative with their videos. I belive by doing it this way it will give us a good advanatage and will allow the flow of lots of good ideas that can added or taken away from the video.
